This role is critical to advancing and securing high‑value closure scopes that require an advanced, integrated hydrogeological and risk‑based approach.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior‑level technical expertise to support the progression and closure of complex contaminated sites, with a focus on hydrogeological and risk‑based solutions.
  • Deliver specialized technical support to the Water group, partnering closely with internal technical leaders to advance closure strategies and execution.
  • Apply a combined hydrogeological and risk assessment framework to develop defensible, regulator‑ready closure pathways.
  • Support and enable the execution of secured scopes, with potential for additional work as projects successfully progress through closure milestones.
  • Interface directly with regulators and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Alberta’s environmental and regulatory requirements.
QualificationsQualifications / Skill Set
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Advanced technical expertise in environmental engineering, hydrogeology, and contaminated site management, with demonstrated experience progressing complex sites to closure.
  • Proven ability to integrate hydrogeological analysis and risk‑based approaches to address challenging contamination scenarios, including deep casing failure impacts.
  • In‑depth working knowledge of Alberta’s environmental regulatory framework, including closure, remediation, and risk‑based pathways.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and credibly to clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Holds a valid professional designation in Alberta within the relevant environmental or engineering practice area.
