This role is critical to advancing and securing high‑value closure scopes that require an advanced, integrated hydrogeological and risk‑based approach.Key Responsibilities
Provide senior‑level technical expertise to support the progression and closure of complex contaminated sites, with a focus on hydrogeological and risk‑based solutions.
Deliver specialized technical support to the Water group, partnering closely with internal technical leaders to advance closure strategies and execution.
Apply a combined hydrogeological and risk assessment framework to develop defensible, regulator‑ready closure pathways.
Support and enable the execution of secured scopes, with potential for additional work as projects successfully progress through closure milestones.
Interface directly with regulators and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Alberta’s environmental and regulatory requirements.
QualificationsQualifications / Skill Set
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or a closely related discipline.
Advanced technical expertise in environmental engineering, hydrogeology, and contaminated site management, with demonstrated experience progressing complex sites to closure.
Proven ability to integrate hydrogeological analysis and risk‑based approaches to address challenging contamination scenarios, including deep casing failure impacts.
In‑depth working knowledge of Alberta’s environmental regulatory framework, including closure, remediation, and risk‑based pathways.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and credibly to clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Holds a valid professional designation in Alberta within the relevant environmental or engineering practice area.
