We use this information to do our best to place you in a position that aligns with your goals, motivations, personality, and values.Job ID: 42276Job Type: Direct HireCategory: AccountingLocation: Calgary, AlbertaOur fantastic client is seeking a Financial Controller for their locally owned and managed Property Management company in downtown Calgary.Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will act as the pillar for the finance team empowering the department of five with collaboration, mentorship and accountability. This individual will ideally possess previous knowledge of the property management and/or real estate industry.The ideal candidate will be proactive, enthusiastic and keen to make a positive impact on the company and their team.Duties and Responsibilities:The key job functions are:
  • Manage the accounting team and oversee the day-to-day accounting processes
  • Prepare monthly financial and variance analysis reports, bank reconciliations, and facilitate quarterly meetings
  • Collaborate with other departments to create the annual budget and expense allocations
  • Compile necessary financials for year end audits
  • Other duties as required
Education:
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration majoring in accounting or a related field
  • CPA designation
Qualifications:
  • Successfully complete a criminal and credit check
  • High proficiency in MS 365 (specifically Excel and Powerpoint)
Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years of full cycle accounting experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team
  • Property management, real estate or construction/development industry experience is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Yardi property management software is considered an asset

Base Salary: $95,000-100,000 per year

Work Hours:
  • 8AM – 5PM (w/ 1 hour lunch)
  • 40hr/wk
Remote Work:
  • This position is not remote and required to be on-site.
