We currently have an opening for a Construction Inspector in our Whitehorse office. You will join our vibrant team of Professional Engineers and Technologists on construction inspection projects throughout Yukon. You will be responsible for undertaking a variety of projects for a varied client base. This is an opportunity available from May to October with a possibly of extension. You will have the opportunity to engage in a collaborative work environment, working with a team, as well as other disciplines and offices, and grow your role and responsibilities over time.Duties include the following:
  • Monitoring the Contractor's operations to ensure compliance with contract terms, design specifications, and drawings
  • Monitoring progress and schedules
  • Preparing daily & weekly reports
  • Maintaining projects records and site diaries
  • Reviewing contractor work procedure submissions
  • Monitoring of quality control testing
  • Reviewing on-site quantities
  • Contract Administration
Job RequirementsWhat you will bring:
  • 2+ years in Contract Administration and Site Inspection.
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution considered an asset.
  • Experience on transportation projects, with specific experience in roadway improvements.
  • Familiarity with road/bridge construction materials, methods, and process.
  • Computer skills including civil3d, word, excel, PDF/Bluebeam markups and windows applications.
  • Committed team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction when required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and schedules.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
