Senior EstimatorFull-Time | PermanentEdmonton, AB | OnsiteSalary Range: $135,000 – $150,000DescriptionOur client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join their Western Canada team in Edmonton. This is a high-impact position supporting major Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction pursuits in a fast-paced and competitive market.In this role, you will lead preconstruction efforts, develop accurate conceptual and detailed estimates, and drive bid strategy from early pursuit through project buyout. This is an opportunity for a proven estimator who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and can immediately contribute to complex, high-value projects.What You’ll Be DoingDirect procurement planning, bid strategy, and preconstruction efforts across projectsProduce precise, comprehensive, and clearly organized cost estimates and budgetsCreate conceptual budgets and shape pricing strategies during early project phasesOversee bid submissions in fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentsOperate across diverse delivery methods, including Construction Management, Design-Build, P3, and Lump Sum contractsAnalyze and reconcile subcontractor pricing, identifying gaps, risks, and scope inconsistenciesAssist with post-award processes such as quote distribution, scope revisions, and buyout activitiesSupport value engineering efforts by identifying cost-saving opportunities and project risksGuide and mentor junior estimators to support their professional growthEstablish and sustain strong partnerships with subcontractors and suppliersMaintain and improve estimating systems, including labor rates, material costs, and historical dataWhat You Must HaveDegree or diploma in construction, engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience8–10+ years of estimating experience within Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction projectsExtensive experience leading full-cycle estimating and preconstruction activitiesProven ability to prepare both high-level conceptual budgets and detailed cost estimatesIn-depth knowledge of construction contracts, estimating methodologies, and commercial risk management practicesDemonstrated success in mentoring and guiding junior estimating staffStrong expertise in subcontractor coordination, bid evaluation, and levelingAbility to deliver accurate work efficiently in fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentsProficient in estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and/or CostXEligible to obtain security clearance as required for project workWhy Join the TeamJoin a respected and established industry leader with a strong presence in Western CanadaWork on high-profile, large-scale ICI construction projectsBe part of a growing team in a highly active and opportunity-rich marketBenefit from a streamlined hiring process and strong leadership supportPlay a key role in shaping successful project outcomes from the earliest stagesWho Will Excel in This RoleThe ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented leader with a strong background in general contracting and broad ICI estimating experience.
