- Fluency with Synchro, Aimsun or Vissim
- Programming skills in languages such as Python and R, or experience with Microsoft Azure is an asset
- Working knowledge in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and/or analytic tools such as Tableau/PowerBI is an asset
- Progressive and innovative approach to problem-solving an asset
- Knowledge of geometric roadway design, traffic engineering, travel demand modeling, transit service planning, active transportation an asset
- Knowledge and application of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Process (MCEA), Transit Project Assessment Process (TPAP), TAC Manual, MTO Geometrics Design Manual
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in transportation engineering including traffic operations studies, traffic signals, transit priority, meso/microsimulation modelling, highway and transit infrastructure projects, master and secondary plans, environmental assessments, traffic impact studies, traffic safety, pedestrian and cycling studies, and traffic management plans.
- Experience with projects involving pedestrian simulation modelling for transit stations and other public facilities
- Experience with projects involving LRT, BRT, or subway / heavy rail is an asset
- Familiarity with planning policies and guiding documents in the Greater Toronto Area is an asset
- Experience working on MTO, Metrolinx, TTC, York Region, Peel Region, Durham Region, or City of Toronto projects preferred.
- Bachelor's degree
