We're looking for a dynamic professional to step into a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Vice President, Construction.In this position, you'll lead the overall performance, operations, and profitability of our construction division, including paving, asphalt operations, and Pavement Preservation. With full P&L responsibility, you'll oversee a team of direct and indirect reports, while collaborating with subcontractors and key stakeholders across the business.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities with confidence, and brings a strong blend of operational expertise and strategic thinking. You'll represent the organization with professionalism, whether working with internal teams, clients, or municipal and provincial partners, while driving growth and operational excellence.This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in our Niagara construction office, offering a competitive salary of $140,000-$185,000 plus incentives, vehicle allowance, benefits, and pension.What You'll Be DoingDrive efficiency and profitability across all Niagara construction operationsOversee construction projects, paving operations, asphalt plants, shop and equipment managementPreparing budgeting, forecasting, and reviewing financial performance, including P&L and margin reportingEnsure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and labour regulations across all sitesConduct site inspections and monitor operational performance to maintain high standardsCollaborate with leadership to develop annual business plans and capital budgetsBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, municipalities, and industry partnersIdentify growth opportunities through market analysis and strategic planningProvide leadership and mentorship to supervisors and teams, fostering a positive and productive work environmentSupport workforce development through hiring, performance management, and training initiativesParticipate in industry events to stay informed on market trends and innovationsReview estimates, contracts, and negotiate agreements to ensure strong project outcomesEnsure proper administration of the collective agreementHere's What You NeedMinimum 3-year college diploma (CET)Degree in Commerce, Business, or Civil Engineering is an asset10+ years of experience in heavy construction (roadbuilding, paving, sewer, water, or earthmoving)5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and operationsStrong knowledge of construction contracts, tenders, and negotiationsProven financial acumen, detail oriented with experience managing budgets and analyzing performanceValid Ontario G Driver's License in good standingExperience with HCSS or similar construction software is an assetKnowledge of GPS/survey systems for heavy equipment is an assetWhat's in it for youYou become part of a team you can count onA comprehensive total rewards package and benefits to support your wellbeingLeaders who support your growth and successA workplace that provides the best health & safety practices in industryGive back to your community with two paid volunteer days annually and opportunities to become involved in eventsWalker Industries does not rely on artificial intelligence or automated systems at any stage of recruiting or hiring.
