You will play a vital role in providing safe and reliable transportation services to our community. Your work will help connect people to their destinations while supporting our mission of innovative mobility.Responsibilities
  • Drives one of several different transit vehicles in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the contracted service area within a daily assigned time schedule.
  • Operate equipment and vehicles in accordance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintains a strong attendance record.
  • Performs pre/post-trip vehicle inspections as required.
  • Possess a functional knowledge of the service area.
  • Stops at designated points to load and/or unload passengers.
  • Notifies dispatch of deviations, overload, accidents, passenger incidents, medical/behavioral problems, or bus mechanical/electrical trouble.
  • Ensures that fares are deposited into the fare box and dispenses information. Advises passengers of rules and regulations when necessary.
  • Completes and submits written reports concerning passengers and all accidents.
  • Operates on-board computer destination signs.
  • Assumes any and all other duties assigned, one of which regularly involves yard work at the depot location.

Your profile
  • You have a valid Class 1 or Class 2 License with air brake endorsements.
  • You have a clear driver abstract and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and follow established safety protocols.
  • You have the ability to assist passengers with disabilities and mobility devices.
  • You have physical ability to perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • You possess the ability to read, write and speak English.
  • You are able to pass vulnerable records check and drug/alcohol testing.
  • You are reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and willingness to work a variety of shift.
Your location
  • This is a full time position located in Yellowknife.
  • There is a requirement to work on shifts that may vary from 5 to 10 hours, up to 35 hours per week.
  • Various start/end times Sunday to Saturday.
