Shift schedules will be determined according to business needs, as follows:
- Day: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Evening: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- Overnight: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a unionized heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written), with the ability to interact effectively with team members and management.
- Proficient in computer systems (experience with AS400 and AutoCAD is an asset).
- Engineering training or equivalent experience in manufacturing or extrusion (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in aluminum extrusion (highly preferred).
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
- Flexibility to work all three production shifts listed above, as well as weekends and overtime when required.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee packaging personnel to meet production targets and ensure line efficiency.
- Analyze operational processes and implement improvements to optimize team and departmental performance.
- Lead labour relations efforts, addressing grievances and resolving employee conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
- Ensure strict compliance with Health and Safety regulations, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
- Monitor packaging equipment performance and coordinate maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with management and other supervisors to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supervise, coach, and develop staff, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
- Act as a liaison between Packaging and other departments, ensuring operational alignment and communication.
- Perform additional duties as required to support department and organizational goals.
