The Billing Specialist will work in Corporate Finance and closely with Commercial/Personal Lines supporting Account Representatives in functions such as identifying and resolving discrepancies, reconciliation of accounts/carriers, specialized billing involvement/training, risk analysis/reporting, and additional finance related projects/tasks.What you will do:
  • Resolution of discrepancies between carrier and company through investigation of transactions entered through our internal system vs. transactions billed by the carrier
  • Working with carriers to understand why differences between billings have occurred and collaborating to resolve the differences
  • Reconciliation of client accounts as requested, to resolve issues and ensure our internal system and client accounts are kept up-to-date and clean
  • Reconciliation and assessment of carrier balances as needed, to investigate possible collection risks with receivable balances
  • Specialized billing involvement on an as-needed basis, including but not limited to accounts with sub-broker commissions, subscription policy billing, and training our lines of business
  • Risk analysis and reporting on accounts receivable to leadership and assessing whether there is potential bad debt
  • Helping to prevent future discrepancies through exception reporting and corrections
What you will bring:
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficient use of Microsoft Outlook
  • EPIC knowledge is an asset, but not required
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and communication skills
  • Accounting/finance background is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Professional, responsive, and a positive work attitude is essential
