Autodesk is seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Developer to join our Trust Data Platform team. In this role, you will design, build, and evolve scalable, secure data platform services that support monitoring, analytics, and operational insights across the organization.You will collaborate with product, architecture, engineering, and security teams to deliver reliable cloud-native systems while promoting secure engineering practices and high-quality software development. You will also help enable AI-driven insights and automation capabilities within the platform to improve observability and operational efficiency.ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of scalable, secure data platform services while shaping the technical roadmap and addressing technical debtCollaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams to translate requirements into high-quality software solutionsBuild and maintain platform systems supporting monitoring, observability, anomaly detection, and compliance reportingDevelop cloud-native microservices and APIs that enable scalable data processing and analytics workloadsIntegrate AI-enabled capabilities within the platform to enhance operational insights, anomaly detection, and system observabilityDeliver software using Agile development practices, promoting open and inner-source collaborationImprove engineering processes through secure coding practices, code quality standards, and system design improvementsReview and improve SDLC processes to address vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and platform security risksStay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud platforms and secure software developmentCommunicate progress, risks, and technical decisions clearly with stakeholders and engineering teamsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field8+ years of experience in software engineering with strong experience building backend or platform systemsExperience designing and developing scalable distributed systems or data platformsDeep expertise in AWS, including IAM, KMS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, networking security, encryption, and secure cloud architectureStrong proficiency in Python and experience building microservice architecturesExperience integrating AI-enabled platform capabilities or services to support analytics, automation, or operational insightsHands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCIStrong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormationExperience integrating security controls into engineering workflows, including CI/CD security automation (SAST, SCA, IaC scanning)Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehousing platformsProven ability to design and implement scalable, reliable platform servicesExcellent problem-solving, debugging, collaboration, and communication skillsExperience working within Agile/Scrum development environmentsLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $131,000 and $191,400. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
