
Automotive General Sales Manager

- Oversee the variable department (New, Used, F&I) and train, support, and coach the sales and finance teams throughout the sales process
- Manage new and used inventory levels to ensure stock is balanced, appropriate for the market, and optimized for rotation
- Analyze client and market trends to determine and order the right stock of new vehicles (color, model, equipment)
- Appraise, purchase, recondition, and market used vehicles to generate dealership profit
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of employees, while fostering future talent development
- Champion the Davis culture and lead by example through dedication to action and results
- Develop and maintain positive customer relationships, ensuring a priority on customer satisfaction to create loyalty and generate referrals
- Stay updated on manufacturer products and promotions and communicate any changes to the variable team
- Participate in the preparation of the annual dealership forecast by projecting unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profits for the new and used sales departments
- Maintain effective communication within the variable department and with other dealership leaders, collaborating to identify opportunities and resolve issues
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in automotive sales and finance; including leadership experience
- GM experience is a strong asset
- Proven ability to lead and build a cohesive team by motivating, inspiring, and engaging employees
- A team player dedicated to working with leadership and employees to achieve alignment and meet goals
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a focus on continuous improvement
- Results-driven with excellent planning, organization, and execution skills and a proven record of meeting or exceeding targets
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills, including tact, sensitivity, empathy, and professionalism when interacting with customers and employees
- Post secondary education in dealership management, business or a related area of study would be an asset
- A valid Driver's License
