- Maintain Financial Records: Post journal entries, manage general ledger accounts, and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
- Reconcile and Resolve: Perform regular bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution.
- Process Transactions: Handle accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payments, and employee expense reports.
- Support Reporting Cycles: Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, government remittances, and other required reports.
- Audit Readiness: Support both internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with other departments to ensure financial data is aligned and accurate.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide financial insights and reporting as needed to support business decisions.
- Ensure Compliance: Follow established accounting procedures and stay up to date with relevant financial regulations.
- Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience in a similar role
- Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel; familiarity with Sage 50, MS Dynamics, SAP, or other ERP systems is a definite asset
- Accounting Know-How: Solid understanding of accounting principles, month-end processes, and financial reporting
- Detail-Oriented: You have a sharp eye for detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
- Self-Starter: Comfortable managing your own workload and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
- Team Player: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
