- Drive strategic HR initiatives by partnering with HR specialist teams, such as Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, and Total Rewards.
- Provide support, coaching, and advice to the business on employee relations issues, applicable employment laws, company policies.
- Utilize data driven insights to make informed decisions when providing support to operational leaders across the organization.
- Partner with managers to provide performance management solutions including disciplinary action, performance improvement plans, expectation setting and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Lead and participate in HR projects, initiatives, strategies, and process/system improvements.
- Lead and participate in meetings, presentations, and training with various levels of the organization.
- Communicate and educate employees on company policies, job responsibilities, working conditions, compensation, career advancement opportunities, other HR related information.
- Collaborate with legal to process employee immigration items to facilitate business travel, work in multiple jurisdictions, work visas, etc.
- Process and participate in employee termination events including RIF/layoff, termination for cause/dismissal. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and policies, as well as ensure all applicable approvals in place prior to termination. Participate in termination meeting. Complete offboarding.
- Process voluntary turnover such as resignations, retirement, etc. Issue exit surveys to identify trends and areas of concern. Provide recommendations on areas for improvement.
- Participate as company HR representative in outside proceedings such as mediations, settlement meetings, unemployment hearings, etc.
- Create and maintain documentation for a variety of employment related items.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other departments on an ongoing basis that have cross over into HR such as Legal, Risk, EHS, Payroll.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of HR related legal requirements and changes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Monday through Friday, 40-hour work week; extended hours may be required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
- Will be required to carry a company cellphone and be available during non-regular hours for urgent matters.
- Will be required to travel occasionally to other service centers
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or similar preferred or equivalent experience.
- HR certification, such as a SHRM-CP or PHR a plus.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive related experience; preferably in a multi-site, industrial, engineering, business services, manufacturing, or similar organization.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- Proficiency using MS Office and HRIS systems; experience with Ceridian Dayforce HCM a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies.
- Excellent time management skills and with a proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task, be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment and to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must possess a positive, service-oriented attitude, be easily approachable, confident and possess an enthusiastic approach.
