We are WSPThe OpportunityBuild the Future with UsWSP is seeking Junior Radiation Protection Technician to join our growing team supporting one of Canada's most significant environmental remediation initiatives. You will work alongside highly skilled professionals who have helped pioneer some of the country's first long-term radiological storage solutions, contributing directly to the safe restoration of land for future generations.This role supports the Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) - the federal government's response to a community-requested solution for the cleanup and long-term management of historic low-level radioactive waste in the municipalities of Port Hope and Clarington.Please note: while candidates may be considered from various locations across Canada, this position is ON-SITE at the Port Hope, Ontario project location, with work primarily conducted outdoors.Your Impact
- Deliver day-to-day execution of the site radiation protection program, ensuring safe and compliant operations.
- Measure gamma radiation fields and surface contamination using radiation detectors and swipe sampling techniques.
- Manage and track personal dosimeters for the site workforce to support exposure monitoring and compliance.
- Deploy radon monitors and ensure calibration and readiness of radiation detection equipment.
- Collect, summarize, and analyze routine radiation data for inclusion in regulatory and internal reports.
- Enforce radiation safety procedures for workers and site visitors through observation and guidance.
- Support Radiation Protection (RP) leadership and site management teams with technical input and field support.
- Respond promptly to site requests for RP services to maintain uninterrupted project progress.
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Nuclear Engineering, Radiation Protection, Health Physics, or a related field (preferred).
- Working knowledge of radiation safety principles appropriate to training and professional background.
- Ability to organize, compile, and summarize routine technical data using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to complete, accurate documentation.
- Eligibility for CNL Reliability Status, requiring a minimum of three years of verifiable residency in Canada, USA, UK, New Zealand, and/or Australia.
- Willingness and ability to perform on-site fieldwork, including outdoor work in varying conditions.

MB & ON: $60,900 - $83,800
