- Draft, revise, and analyze commercial real estate lease agreements and ancillary documents, for a diverse portfolio.
- Collaborate with the leasing team and advise on suitable agreements for a variety of tenancies (including retail, office and industrial).
- Coordinate document execution by digitally filing deal flow documents and transmitting contracts for signature via Docusign.
- Summarize key financial terms and lease clauses for internal teams by way of lease abstracts.
- Conduct and review due diligence searches, including Land Title and BC Corporate Registry searches, and present findings to leasing and property managers, as requested.
- Manage critical lease dates and work with leasing managers to negotiate lease terms.
- Prepare estoppels (and liaise with tenants to obtain execution of the same); conduct lease reviews in relation to onboarding new income-producing properties.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a lease administrator and/or a qualified real estate paralegal, with exceptional lease drafting skills and strong communication abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to troubleshoot effectively, thinking outside the box.
- Expertise in document management, proofreading, and organization is key, along with strong technical skills, including advanced MS Office proficiency.
- Experience in real estate law (specifically, leasing) is an asset, and a strong work ethic with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency is essential.
- Capability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to adhere to directions and deadlines, as well as possessing the flexibility to manage own workflows and prioritize action items.
