The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in helping students achieve their goals while sharing their Welding knowledge and experience with those students. This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to instruct in a variety of courses within the Department, while also sharing their passion for their trade in both the classroom and the shop.Duties include:
- Prepare and present classes in both theory and practical settings
- Organize and supervise practical assignments
- Conduct student evaluations
- Maintain necessary paperwork

Teaching experience would be preferred. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:An ability to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles.
  • Knowledge of current educational technologies commonly found in classrooms (e.g., Zoom, TEAMS, D2L) are desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, specifically one who is willing to take a risk to create opportunities.
  • Motivated individual who seeks to continuously improve instruction and meet the needs of learners.
  • Willingness to work with and support the Teaching & Learning Centre.
  • Student-focused.
  • Strong organizational skills.
