At Swissport, we are driven by our core values of Show You Care, Do the Right Things, and Win as a Team, and we are currently seeking dedicated individuals who align with these values to join our team at various locations across the globe.Position SummaryThe Turnaround Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all ground handling activities during an aircraft’s turnaround to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time departures. Acting as the central point of contact between flight crews, ground operations, and service providers, the Turnaround Coordinator ensures compliance with airline standards, airport regulations, and safety procedures always.Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the flight deck, cabin crew, ramp, fueling, catering, cleaning, and other service providers.
  • Communicate real-time updates on turnaround progress to operations control and airline representatives.
  • Ensure all stakeholders follow the turnaround plan and safety requirements.
  • Monitor all phases of the aircraft turnaround (arrival, servicing, boarding, departure).
  • Verify ground support equipment and personnel are in place and operating safely.
  • Track turnaround milestones (chocks on/off, fueling, baggage loading, boarding, pushback).
  • Take immediate corrective action to resolve delays or operational issues.
  • Enforce compliance with company, airline, and airport safety and security standards.
  • Conduct ramp safety checks and ensure the use of PPE and equipment safety protocols.
  • Report and document any incidents, irregularities, or delays.
  • Record turnaround data and prepare reports on delays, incidents, and efficiency metrics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in on-time performance (OTP).
  • Support airline and ground handling audits as required.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience in ground handling, ramp operations, or airline operations (2–4 years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of airport safety standards, turnaround processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication in English and coordination skills under pressure.
  • Must have a G license to obtain an AVOP (Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit)
  • Ability to make quick operational decisions in time-critical environments.
  • Proficiency in using turnaround management systems, radio communication, and reporting tools.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced airport environment.
Work Environment
  • Airside, in direct contact with aircraft operations.
  • High-paced, safety-critical environment with exposure to weather conditions.
  • Requires use of PPE and compliance with ramp safety standards
