- Provide on-site implementation of Power Management and mission critical monitoring and control systems including Power Xpert, Foreseer, PowerNet, and next generation Power Monitoring platforms.
- Provide applied engineering and consultation to customers in the areas of system integration, installation, start-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training and modification of power management, control, and mission critical systems.
- Design and programming of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based control systems
- Design and implement advanced power transfer and other control schemes including Main-Tie-Main transfer schemes, load shedding/ peak shaving schemes, breaker control schemes, SCADA system development, and generator control. Experience with relay logic is preferred.
- Quote advanced turnkey power monitoring and control schemes. (analyze specifications, price all applicable labor and materials, write a proposed scope of work, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree or a Technologist Diploma in a technical discipline (Electrical/ Mechanical/ Systems/ Computer Engineering/ Computer Science).
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with ICS (Industrial Control Systems) automation or PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) programming or SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
- Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
- Business travel to customer sites is required.
- Required to travel to United States for training on safety and Eaton products.
- Legally authorized to work in the Canada without company sponsorship now or in future.
- Must live within 80 km of the facility.
- 3+ years of experience working with ICS (Industrial Control Systems) automation or PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) programming or SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition).
- Experience in the practice of safety precautions related to working with automation and electrical distribution systems.
- Understanding of electrical control schematics and single line diagrams.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques.
- Strong computer skills required with Windows Server Operating Systems and SQL Databases.
- Basic networking skills including the ability to troubleshoot network hardware and interfaces.
- Knowledge of electrical test equipment and diagnostic instruments.
- Programming of PLC control systems an asset.
- Knowledge of cyber security principles an asset.
- Commissioning experience an asset.
- Ability to interface with internal and external customers, salespeople, and other team members on a technical level.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication/ presentation skills
- Self-motivated individual who can perform both independently and in a team environment.
