- Responsible for timely, proper, and efficient preparation of all food items according to the correct menu specifications, recipes, and passenger load requirements.
- Ensure the proper use of raw materials in a continuous effort to keep wastage to a minimum.
- Comply with and practice the company’s established Food Safety/ HACCP Policy and Procedures.
- Assuring that the quality standards of the food is maintained all the time
- Co-ordinate with Assembly/Food Packing staff to make sure their work is not delayed, and all dished meals are in accordance with the airline specs
- Responsible for managing inventory, ensure FIFO is being followed
- Should have basic knowledge, experience, and skills to work with various modern kitchen equipment – Rational Oven, Fryer, Steam Kettles, Char Broiler, Flat top Stove, Cooking Gas range etc.
- At least 1-year experience cooking in a hotel kitchen/restaurant or manufacturing high volume catering environment
- Experience cooking in various cuisines – Asian/Indian/Continental/ is an asset
- Must be able to Read, write and follow food specifications and menu guidelines in English
- Work assigned schedule which may include multiple shifts, weekends and holiday
- Arrive to work on-time
- Pass a criminal background check
- Culinary degree or cooking certification preferred
- Red Seal or equivalent preferred
- Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds
- Regularly stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during shifts of 8 hours
