Job Summary and Qualifications:Summary of Duties:
  • Construction and repair of cabinets and furniture;
  • Construction of studs and drywall;
  • Installation of acoustic T-Bar ceilings;
  • Installation and repair of all types of hardware;
  • Carry out repairs to floors, corlon and vinyl tiles, etc;
  • Prepare and lay out own material;
  • Carry out other carpentry duties as assigned;
  • Coverage at other campuses as required
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Secondary school completion, and completion of a recognized Trade and Apprenticeship program;
  • Must have valid Province of Ontario Certificate of Qualification in Carpentry;
  • Significant recent related experience as a carpenter required, ideally in a hospital/healthcare setting;
  • Locksmith qualifications and skills are desirable
  • Maintenance experience essential;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Blueprint reading an asset;
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
