Together, let's sail towards a brighter, more sustainable future with Maersk.The OpportunityA LCM maintains strong business relationships with Maersk’s Strategic Accounts and is responsible for YoY growth across the Maersk product and services portfolio. LCM’s offer transportation and logistics solutions that add value to the client’s business, while managing client expectations, and delivering positive results to Maersk.Key ResponsibilitiesYoY Portfolio GrowthManagement of client’s strategic initiativesEntry point to customer for all levels of the client organizationSelling new and additional integrated logistics services including but not limited to: Supply Chain Management & Value Added (VAS) services, Ocean freight, FCL and LCL, Domestic Ground Freight, Airfreight, Transload / Warehousing, and Customs House Brokerage.Monitor profitabilityContract renewal negotiationsLiaison between Customer and Origin as needed / as escalation point (primarily handled by the PM)Problem solvingSales Systems familiaritySpecial account handling when neededHandling general enquiriesLiaise with Program Management on strategic issuesTravel with client when mutually beneficialResolve large and/or complex issues/problemsManage by influence resources that do not report to this position (e.g., Program Manager; Logistics Specialist; Customer Service teams)It is the aim of management to utilize the GCM to gain synergy between all operating systems, finance and business development groups within Maersk. In addition to gathering resources and coordinating developments within our own company, the GCM must communicate on many levels within the client’s organization, often from front line customer service people up to CEO level.LCMs may handle more than one account or be available to act as a sales specialist for the Maersk sales organization.Comply with all Federal, Provincial and Local legal requirementsMaintain technical and professional proficiencyAttend classes or educational workshopsReview professional publicationsWe are looking forEducation and Experience· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience· Industry diplomas or certificates (i.e. CIFFA or CITT) would be preferred, but is not required· Minimum 5 years of experience in international freight forwarding or supply chain/ logistics, or shipping industries· Strong analytical and problem solving skills; results and details oriented personality; organizational skills· Advanced computer literacy and ability to efficiently operate standard office equipment· Good communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills are required; ability to work under pressure; team player· Ability to work under pressure and provide guidance to staff· Strong problem solving skills· PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Technical Skills and Competencies Required· Ability to make decisions in the absence of management· Excellent communication skills· Excellent conflict resolution and problem solving skills· A well organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.· Ability to train, coach, evaluate and mentor· Strong and current knowledge of technology platforms, MS Office products, and ability to quickly adapt to new softwareWhat we offerThis is an exciting career opportunity in an international, challenging business setting known for diversity and being a high paced environment.
