Description :SMS Equipment is seeking a Warehousing Solutions Lead. This role acts as a Subject Matter Expert for warehouse best practices, setting benchmarks for relevant warehouses across Canada, conducting audits, and working with operations to identify improvement opportunities in support of consistent performance standards.Work Location: Acheson, AB
Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 annually
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – providing the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 hours per dayWhat You’ll Do
  • Own the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of warehouse policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions for SMS locations across Canada.
  • Lead and support the expansion and ongoing optimization of the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Partner with Branch teams and IT to resolve day-to-day WMS issues and ensure smooth warehouse operations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute annual physical inventory counts across SMS, leveraging Inventory team resources within CPSG.
  • Develop and implement cycle counting programs and evaluate policy alternatives to traditional annual inventory counts.
  • Define minimum warehouse performance KPIs for all branches and develop corrective action and improvement plans for locations that fall below established standards.
  • Conduct regular warehouse audits, identify improvement opportunities, and follow up with branches to ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Perform inventory analysis to improve customer service levels, increase inventory turns, and drive performance against key operational KPIs.
What You BringThe successful candidate will bring strong warehouse operations expertise and hands-on WMS experience. Other requirements include:
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing best practices, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
  • Experience leading or supporting cycle count programs and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Strong background in developing, tracking, and using KPIs to drive warehouse performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lead through influence, working collaboratively with Operations and cross-functional teams across multiple locations across Canada.
  • Experience managing, analyzing, and optimizing inventory to improve service levels and inventory efficiency.
  • Project management experience is considered an asset.
