- Fosters positive working relationships with Supervision and Management to support employee relations and engagement.
- Provides advice and coaching to managers on Employee Relations, policy interpretation, attendance management, modified return to work programs, discipline, performance coaching
- Effective communication skills – written and verbal – with a bias for in person discussion and with the objective of ensuring information is understood.
- Strong influence skills coupled with a deep understanding of differing perspectives across the various operating departments in the business unit and from corporate staff.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, establish and achieve targets/standards, schedule resources, and assign work in such a way that team members can make effective use of materials, equipment, and tools to achieve a pre-defined schedule and goals.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues to recommend corrective actions based on monitoring employee relation conditions that could adversely affect the team or business.
- Seeks opportunities for learning to improve the HR function, site, and organization business metrics.
- Draft communications, develop and facilitate training, and develop / enhance processes to create a positive and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with Heath Services on employee return to work plans.
- Lead investigations for all Harassment and Workplace Violence Complaints. Responsible for conducting thorough confidential investigations, providing written case summaries, and recommending courses of action for effective resolution.

- Diploma/Degree in Human Resources (or equivalent experience)
- 8-12 years experience in Human Resources, in resource industry is highly suitable.
- 4 years experience at a senior generalist or business partner level.
- Has relevant experience in several areas of human resources management such as: employee relations, problem solving, policy and process development performance management, compensation process,, change management and workplace investigation.
- CPHR/CHRP designation or working towards is an asset.
- Strong computer and technology skills, including experience working with an HRIS technology system
- Experience in employee relations, problem solving, and advising business partners.
- Can lead their subordinates who are effective in fostering continuous improvement in processes and technology.
- Strong interpersonal, communications, and analytical skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
