Position Overview
Financial Services Officer 1 (FIN01) plays a key role in managing relationships with funded organizations and ensuring financial accountability under infrastructure funding agreements. This position is responsible for guiding stakeholders through the reconciliation process, verifying compliance, and supporting the successful financial close-out of multiple projects.
The role requires a balance of client relationship management, financial analysis, and technical accounting expertise to support approximately 41 projects through final reconciliation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for funded organizations, providing guidance and support on financial reporting and reconciliation requirements
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure timely and accurate submission of financial documentation
  • Review, analyze, and validate financial statements, expenditure reports, and supporting documentation for compliance with funding agreements
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions
  • Support organizations in resolving financial reporting issues and improving submission accuracy
  • Prepare and analyze budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reports
  • Maintain and monitor revenue and expenditure records across multiple projects
  • Ensure proper accounting entries, including adjustments, accruals, and closing entries
  • Develop and maintain financial reports and statistical summaries for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project timelines and financial deliverables are met
Qualifications & Experience
  • Grade XII diploma with recognized professional accounting training (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or client/account management
  • Experience working with financial reconciliations, budgeting, and reporting processes
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
