Our diverse team across 20+ countries and many language groups commit itself to diverse cultural programs, in particular which makes social entrepreneurs out of us all and funds development initiatives in global communities.Our People areBold, Authentic, Purposeful and InspiredOur People are notPerfect, Traditional, Complacent or CautiousAs a Senior Software Engineer on our Digital Commerce Team, you'll be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, robust full-stack solutions that power our commerce platform.To thrive in this role, you'll bring extensive experience with Node.js (ideally NestJS), a deep understanding of front-end technologies, and significant expertise in cloud infrastructure.You'll lead technical design discussions, write high-quality code, implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, and mentor junior engineers. Your ability to collaborate regularly with product managers, QA engineers, and other engineering teams will be crucial for delivering successful features, ensuring platform stability, and continuously improving our infrastructure and observability practices.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable, high-performance APIs and microservices using , leveraging NestJS frameworks where appropriate.Implement robust and intuitive front-end components using modern JavaScript frameworks to deliver seamless user experiences.Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS services, with a strong emphasis on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and orchestration with Kubernetes.Collaborate with product and design teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver impactful features.Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, design, coding, testing, deployment, and operational support.​​Implement and maintain robust observability solutions (logging, monitoring, alerting) to ensure the health and performance of microservices.Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.Skills and Experience8+ years of experience in full-stack software development, with a strong focus on back-end development.Extensive professional experience with Node.js and Typescript, including hands-on experience with modern frameworks such as NestJS.Proficiency in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React).Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and managing microservices architectures on AWS.Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform, and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.Demonstrated experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and effective data modelling.Proven ability to design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.Proficiency with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog) for monitoring, logging, and alerting.Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, a postgraduate degree and/or a record of academic achievement is also desirableProficiencies and AttributesStrong problem-solving skills and a keen ability to break down complex problems into manageable solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within an Agile development environment.Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for deliverables.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, adapting quickly to new technologies and business needs.Why Cover Genius?Cover Genius not only cares about being the best in our industry, we care about our team.
