- Conduct field investigations to determine how the job will be done and what materials, tools and labor will be needed
- Schedule the maintenance work orders and establish the general nature and timing of the job
- Ensure that costs are controlled and develop long-term maintenance programs by providing cost analysis and equipment performance. Continually monitoring the service life cycle process
- Improve efficiency by analyzing performance and equipment histories by implementing recommendations and assisting with technical problems through coordination and management of change
- Ensure the accuracy of maintenance work orders and effective documentation through review and auditing of the criteria required for a planned MWO and the work approval process
- Work closely with and supports the Supervisors, Engineers, and General Supervisors in their function within the maintenance organization
- Support the Maintenance trades development and mentorship of the NANA shareholders through the apprenticeship programs, ensuring that apprentices are exposed to a well-rounded work load
- Substitute for other persons in Maintenance leadership roles if requested
- Provide input into budget preparation and controlling costs by providing equipment repair schedules and forecasting service life attainment beyond the current year
- Establish Personal Goals & Objectives annually that align with Team Leader, Departmental and Property Goals and Objectives. (These require Team Leader approval and will be evaluated in regards to achievement during Building Strength with People coaching and mentoring review sessions)
- Contribute to the well being of employees by participating in the organization, implementation and enforcement of plant safety and hygiene programs
- Aware of the “Whistle Blower Policy” and has signed off and will adhere to the “Company's Code of Ethics”
- Understands the commitment required to effectively perform at this position, in order to achieve departmental goals
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Journeyperson Mechanic with ten (10) years Industrial Mechanic experience, or five (5) Years Maintenance Planning experience plus five (5) years Industrial Mechanic experience, or a Maintenance Engineer (B.Eng., Mechanical, Materials) minimum of three (3) years post grad in an industrial maintenance environment.
- Intermediate skills and knowledge of computers utilizing Microsoft Office software
- Work cooperatively with others
- Manage time independently with limited supervision
- Possess good communication skills
- Committed to safety
- Ability to train apprentices
