As part of a multi-disciplinary group providing independent, objective assurance and advisory services across the organization, you will play a key role in assessing and enhancing controls within the organizationâs financing and insurance portfolios, as well as supporting audits in finance, human resources, and ESG risk management practices. - Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of audits, with a primary focus on Credit Risk, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, and Ethics.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of complex commercial loans, assessing credit quality, underwriting strategy, facility structure, approvals, portfolio performance monitoring, annual reviews, risk ratings, problem loan management, and credit file integrity.
- Validate credit and financial information to determine borrower/guarantor creditworthiness and verify the adequacy and compliance of loan and collateral documentation.
- Develop and execute comprehensive risk assessments and audit programs, incorporating stakeholder interviews, process walkthroughs, and documentation reviews.
- Engage with underwriters, adjudicators, analysts, credit administrators, and management to gather insights and communicate findings in a logical, constructive manner.
- Oversee fieldwork to ensure audit procedures effectively assess the control environment, leveraging data analytics, application control testing, and AI tools where applicable.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of audit methodologies, tools, and processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Draft clear and concise audit findings and reports, supporting clients in developing actionable remediation plans.
- Proactively monitor the implementation of agreed-upon action plans to ensure timely resolution.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the audit lifecycle through effective written and verbal communication.
- Mentor and coach junior audit team members, fostering technical growth and professional development.
- Manage multiple priorities while working independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
- Direct experience auditing commercial credit risk areas, with in-depth knowledge of commercial credit risk processes, analytics, and risk management practices in the financial services and/or insurance industry.
- Proven ability to assess complex commercial lending transactions, structured finance products, underwriting, and corporate or investment banking activities.
- Hands-on expertise in data analytics and generative AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to enhance audit insights and efficiency.
- Experience in ESG-related audits and IFRS-compliant financial statement reviews.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English, supported by a recognized professional designation such as CPA, CIA, MBA, or equivalent.
