- Calculating and determining optimal fuel loads, considering variables such as distance, alternate airports, and expected delays.
- Coordinating closely with air traffic control across multiple international jurisdictions to ensure seamless flight operations and compliance with flight plans.
- Monitoring weather conditions and providing updates to crews, ensuring they have the most accurate and up-to-date information.
- Maintaining communication with pilots during flights, providing support and making adjustments if necessary due to changing circumstances or issues arising in various locations around the world.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, including those related to flight planning, safety, and security.
- Collaborating with maintenance personnel to track aircraft availability, operational status, and any maintenance needs that could affect flight operations.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all flight-related information, including flight plans, fuel calculations, and communication logs.
- Contributing to the resolution of operational issues such as delays, cancellations, and flight diversions by coordinating with relevant stakeholders and implementing appropriate solutions.
- Staying informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, including flight planning procedures and aircraft performance limitations.
- Strong knowledge of meteorology and the ability to interpret weather reports and forecasts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure effective coordination with pilots, air traffic control, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English. Proficiency in another language is considered a valuable asset.
- Proficiency with flight planning software and systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly in time-sensitive and high-pressure situations.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple flights and changing priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining professionalism and composure under stressful conditions.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on flight operation needs.
