Job Title: Mechanical DesignerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team, where you will be involved in various design phases. Your main responsibilities will include taking a tool based on a previous design and creating detailed drawings, performing calculations for sizing and tolerances, and ensuring no interferences. You will work closely with both internal and external partners to secure manufacturing approval.Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering calculations for materials strength, speeds, and forces related to designs.
  • Develop equipment drawings and bills of materials using SolidWorks.
  • Analyze designs for compliance with standards like OSHA and CE.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, machining techniques, and finishes.
  • Communicate design changes and task progress with team leads and management.
  • Collaborate with fabricators, machinists, toolmakers, and electricians in the completion of equipment and problem-solving.
Essential Skills
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Experience in nuclear automation or automated tooling design.
  • Strong engineering experience, particularly in robotics and mechanical design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with custom tooling for the nuclear industry.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, N299, and NQA-1 standards.
  • An educational experience in Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in an automation environment is an asset.
Work EnvironmentThe position offers flexibility with the ability to work on-site initially for 3-4 days per week for the first month, after which the role can transition to fully remote, except for design reviews. Our team consists of 28 designers, with project-specific teams of 12-15 members, each supported by a lead designer. Our core hours are between 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
