For more information visit .Reporting to the Lead - Reliability Engineer, the Fixed Plant - Reliability Engineer In Training is responsible for the reliability and performance of our fixed plant equipment. They will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to ensure the availability, efficiency, and longevity of our critical fixed plant assets.Location: Blackwater Mine SiteSchedule: Two (2) Weeks on - Two (2) Weeks Off RotationEmployment Type: Permanent Responsibilities:Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies for fixed plant equipment, including crushers, mills, conveyors, and other essential processing machinery.Conduct thorough root cause analyses for equipment failures, utilizing data analytics and field observations to identify and address recurring issues affecting fixed plant reliability.Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop and optimize preventive maintenance schedules for fixed plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing unplanned downtime.Implement and oversee condition monitoring programs, utilizing advanced technologies including but not limited to vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography and other NDT technologies to predict and prevent potential failures in fixed plant machinery.Work closely with inventory and procurement teams to optimize the availability of critical spare parts for fixed plant equipment, minimizing lead times and addressing component shortages.Maintain accurate records of fixed plant equipment performance, failures, and maintenance activities. Generate reports and analyses to communicate reliability improvements.Liaise with maintenance supervisors and superintendents to develop plant improvement project proposals for manager review and approval with a focus on improving plant availability, equipment health, and lower maintenance costs both short term and long term. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, with a focus on mechanical, electrical, or reliability engineering.
  • Member in Good standing with EGBC or eligible for transfer from another provincial / territorial association.
  • Demonstrated experience in fixed plant maintenance or reliability engineering, particularly with crushers, mills, conveyors, and other processing equipment.
  • Proficiency in fixed plant equipment systems and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of condition monitoring technologies specific to fixed plant machinery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data related to fixed plant equipment health and reliability.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present findings and recommendations.
  • Ability to adapt reliability strategies to the specific conditions and challenges of fixed plant operations.
  • High degree of organizational, prioritizing, and motivational skills.
  • Experience working with different computer programs such as Pronto, MS Office, CMMS, etc.
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation
  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
  • A willingness to learn and challenge yourself
  • Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to work in a diverse team of professionals and trades
  • Ability to think outside the box while troubleshooting and analyzing a problem.
  • Ability to manage contractors and projects.
