Our client is a respected, community-focused organization dedicated to enhancing care and comfort through a combination of revenue-generating businesses and volunteer-led programs. They are currently seeking a strategic and compassionate Director of Operations to lead and oversee the organization's day-to-day operations and financials, human resources management, and strategy.This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned leader with a passion for community service and operational excellence to make a meaningful impact. Work Arrangement: Fully In-Office
Expected Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 per yearResponsibilities:Leadership & Strategic Oversight
  • Represent the organization in the community and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Refine and implement operational policies and procedures in alignment with bylaws and legislative requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors on strategic planning and organizational development.
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies for staff and volunteers.
  • Serve as an ex-officio member on standing committees and working groups.
Financial & Operational Management
  • Prepare and manage annual operating budgets for business units.
  • Monitor financial activities to ensure accurate reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee procurement, contract negotiations, and proposals for renovations and maintenance.
  • Evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and impact.
  • Participate in finance-related committees in an ex-officio capacity.
Human Resource Management
  • Hire, train, and mentor paid staff.
  • Collaborate with unit leaders to update job descriptions and support team development.
  • Guide and support volunteer leadership in recruitment, training, and engagement.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
Community Engagement & Communications
  • Work with communications teams to develop and implement outreach strategies.
  • Ensure the organization's mission and impact are effectively communicated to the public.
Risk & Safety Management
  • Address safety concerns and ensure compliance with health and safety standards across all operations.
Other Duties
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Qualifications & Attributes:
  • At least 8 years of proven leadership experience in a multi-faceted retail or business environment.
  • Demonstrated success in managing people and teams.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and budget management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial resources effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and online file management systems.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and change management abilities.
  • Ability to mentor, delegate, and foster a collaborative work culture.
  • Passion for community service and alignment with the organization's mission.
  • Adaptability to evolving organizational needs and priorities.
  • Experience working with volunteer-driven organizations is a strong asset.
