Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Manager, Outpatient Child & Adolescent Mental Health and Addictions , the SchoolsPlus Mental Health clinician provides services directly in the community schools within the georgraphical designated SchoolsPlus assigned schools. SchoolsPlus is a collaborative model that is comprehensive and student-focused. Partners work together to educate and provide service to the child and their family, with the school as the center of the service. The clinician is a member of a school-based multidisciplinary team and participates in the planning, development, provision, and evaluation of mental health services for the assigned population in designated school settings. The service will focus on early identification and intervention of mental health disorders for children and adolescents within the school population. The clinician will act as a liaison between the client, school, and mental health services.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline (Masters in Social Work, Psychology (Registered, Masters), Masters in Counseling, Masters in Nursing, Masters in Occupational Therapy)
- Current registration with relevant provincial regulatory body
- Two years' related clinical experience required (including assessment and planning, treatment and intervention and discharge planning)
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used (DSM V) for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in providing individual and group evidence informed therapies based on care plan to clients with mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or concurrent disorders
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in collaborating with families in relation to sharing information, and implementing family-sensitive services that involve families in the care and recovery of people living mental illness and addiction.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in crisis intervention, suicide and violence risk assessment/ intervention
- Demonstrated awareness of community resources and programs.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- High level of written/ oral/ interpersonal communication skills; experience with conflict resolution
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Permanent, Full-Time; 75 hours bi-weekly
