You'll be joining an international software development team responsible for the development of Qlik Automate. Qlik Automate is a powerful automation platform inside Qlik Sense, which connects APIs via a low-code workflow builder.What makes this role interesting?The automations that the team is responsible for developing can be scheduled or event-driven and are compiled and executed inside a docker container. The frontend has a complex drag-and-drop workflow builder, written in Vue.js and JavaScript. The backend uses the PHP/Laravel framework with certain services in GO. We are in the process of migrating the PHP-based functionality to GO and other languages that are commonly used in the Qlik ecosystem. The infrastructure runs on AWS, using a host of services such as AWS EKS (Kubernetes), RDS, ElastiCache, S3, and many more.We take pride in creating and releasing small increments of value to the delight of our users. We are not perfect, yet we are committed to discovering even better ways to deliver value: Do-Measure-Learn.Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:
  • Design, develop, deploy, and improve features in the automation platform.
  • Refactor or migrate parts of the PHP-based functionality to other languages when appropriate.
  • Own the quality of your deliverables through good design, code, implementation, and testing, often in collaboration with a frontend colleague.
  • Ensure that the technical software development process is followed on the project and stay up to date with industry best practices.
  • Help the team by performing peer reviews and participate in knowledge sharing sessions.
  • Collaborate with other Qlik teams such as SRE, Software Security, and Product Management to ensure our team's work meets Qlik's high standards.
We’re looking for a teammate with:
  • A proven track record in complex projects (distributed systems, scheduling systems, etc).
  • Strong knowledge of PHP and Laravel OR strong knowledge of other backend languages, such as GO, with an interest in learning PHP/Laravel.
  • Deep understanding of REST APIs, JSON, WebSockets, microservices and queues.
  • Proficiency in MySQL and in-memory databases (e.g. Redis)
  • Experience with Docker and containerization, Kubernetes/Helm Charts
  • Experience with the following AWS services is a plus: EC2, EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, Terraform.
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to build bridges to stakeholders within or outside the team.
  • Strong time management skills to keep your own and the team’s work on track.
