This will be a term opportunity and course offerings are subject to sufficient student enrolment. Applicants should indicate which courses they are qualified for, interested in teaching and their location preference if applicable.Course listings with specific course details can be found:Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Must be registered through the
  • Possess a relevant master's degree preferably with an addictions background
  • Must be practicing the Red Road theory for a minimum of 5 years
  • Knowledge and understanding of Medicine Wheel teachings
  • Have Indigenous community experience including an understanding of community development theory
  • Experience in classroom teaching and learning practices with Indigenous adult learners at a college or university level
  • Applicants must be willing to teach Face to Face in-class on campus and/or in the community
  • Applicants must be familiar with Moodle, Teams and Outlook operating platforms.
  • Strong team player with excellent human relation skills - faculty members are expected to contribute positively to the life of the school and community
  • Understanding of Canada's colonial history and the devastating impacts on Indigenous peoples and Indigenous ways of being and knowing;
  • Practice from a holistic, culturally safe and trauma-informed lens;
  • Knowledge of and appreciation for Indigenous languages and cultures, and Indigenous lived experiences;
  • Proven ability to build collaborative working relationships to achieve outcomes in the best interest of students and NVIT;
