This person is responsible for working directly with the customers, Field Sales, Silicon Product Planning, System Architects, Tools Engineering, and Technical Marketing to capture, prioritize and plan delivery of the non-silicon requirements. This person will focus on customer use cases to ensure the needs are understood and addressed from silicon definition through the non-silicon deliverables planning stages.THE PERSON:The successful Product Application Engineer is an adaptable and self-motivated individual that can lead planning efforts in aggregating and defining the feature support requirements of AMD EDA tools, embedded software, hard/soft IP, reference designs, and evaluation hardware. This person strives to understand the customer’s needs, concerns, and pain points, then works with internal teams to deliver the best solutions. Additionally, this person is proficient at handling competing priorities, reviewing/writing technical documentation, leading/participating in meetings, and speaking up to ensure the customer is properly represented in all relevant decisions.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze, critique, and document use case details to ensure the silicon and non-silicon deliverables can successfully address the customer’s product requirements
  • Review and provide feedback on silicon and IP architecture specifications
  • Lead/participate in meetings with a focus on understanding, sharing, and delivering on customer’s requirements
  • Work with customers, sales, and cross-functional teams to capture the requirements of the customer use cases for EDA Tools, embedded software, IPs, reference designs, and evaluation hardware
  • Interface with Product Marketing and Engineering teams to plan and prioritize delivery of non-silicon deliverables and features during the release planning process.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment at the forefront of new technology and invention
  • Experience in Project Management and/or a requirements collection role
  • Experience with ASoC, FPGA, and/or ASIC design processes and tool flows
  • Experience with Vivado, Vitis, and Linux
  • Experience with interface protocols such as:
SPI, USB, PCIe, CXL, UAL, LP/DDR, MIPI, DP, HDMI, SDI, Ethernet, and JesDes * Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to break down large complex problems into manageable deliverables and be able to manage and prioritize requirements from many stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent presentation skills
  • Process orientated mindset
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • BE/B.Tech/ME/MTECH/MS or equivalent CS/ECE/CPE/EE
