Job DescriptionWhat is the Opportunity?As the Digital Content Design Lead, you will help RBC Insurance is enter a new era of experience-led growth and the newly formed Digital & Data team is looking for someone to join us as a Content Design Lead. This individual will play a critical role in building intuitive, inclusive, and meaningful content and UX copy alongside our designers, product team, and marketing. As a core member of the design team, we are looking for a strategic thinker and hands-on doer who always takes a human-centric approach to their work. The ideal candidate will write copy for both promotional and transactional experiences for users, with a passion for making complex, ‘legalese’ content intuitive and user-friendly. They will be a thought leader who creates new standards and guidelines on how to use our Tone of Voice to ensure consistent, customer-centric copy is expressed throughout our digital channels. This role will be both an individual contributor as well as a manager for one direct report.What will you do?Create strategies and artifacts (e.g. UX writing standards) to highlight the use of content to ensure an engaging and consistent user experience across all channelsCraft clear, succinct, and human-centric UX copy that balances our business goals and user needs, elevating RBC Insurance’s brand wherever possibleWrite short and long-form copy for a variety of digital experiences including online applications, online broker portal, website content, and emailsCollaborate with key stakeholders, including (but not limited to) Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Information Security, and Regulatory teams to ensure that our digital copy satisfies our legal and regulatory responsibilitiesApply the principles of Accessibility and Inclusive Design in content creationCreate and/or support needs for French translationWork with Design Researchers on using qualitative and quantitative insights to inform content and UX copy decisionsCollaborate with product designers to shape other non-textual content such as interaction patterns, iconography, information graphics, and imageryWork within our agile operating model to provide content at the right touch points that align to squad sprint cyclesWhat will you need to Succeed?Must havesAn undergraduate degree in Literature/English, Psychology, Design, Linguistics, Journalism, HCI, or a related field and/or equivalent experience7+ years of experience in UX writing, content design, or a similar roleA portfolio that showcases your work, with an emphasis on digital experiencesFluency in EnglishStrong understanding of how to apply copy and content design to the customer lifecycle (awareness, consideration, conversion, use, retention, advocacy)Experience working within a highly regulated industry, with legal teams, or subject matter with complex terms and requirementsNice to havesExperience contributing to the launch of digital experiences within an agile environmentFluency in FrenchWhat’s in it for you?A Total Rewards program that includes flexible benefits, work/life balance and career development programs and investment and retirement savings plansCompetitive pay and high-earning potentialAll the tools, training, and team support you need to grow your business and careerFlexible work/life balance optionsSophisticated RBCI software tools to boost your productivity and grow your businessRBC Insurance is an organization that succeeds by bringing out the best in its people.
