
Care/Activity Aide - Activity Aide Assistant Required

- Be responsible for providing assistance to clients with personal care and carrying out established recreation programs.
- Provide input to the development and evaluation of the therapeutic leisure and recreation program to meet specific client needs.
- Implement and participate in established activities of the therapeutic leisure and recreation program.
- Grade 12.
- Graduation from a recognized Home Support Worker/Resident Care Aide program.
- Successful completion of an Activity Assistant Program from a recognized college, one year recent experience working with a physically and/or mentally frail adult population including recent experience working as resident care aide/home support worker with personal care or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Valid Class V Driver’s License.
- Ability to work in a flexible and collaborative manner with the team.
- Ability to demonstrate respect for the rights, confidentiality, dignity and self-esteem of those who are elderly, physically disabled or cognitively impaired.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Ability to follow instructions and to work independently.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
