- The establishment and execution of a fund development plan to meet strategic priorities and programming needs
- This will include but is not limited to the coordination and development of grant proposals, major gifts management and support for annual planned giving activities
- The Fund Development Manager will lead the marketing and communications team, and prospecting activities involving fundraising, engaging with donors, relationship building/stewardship vehicles, grant proposals, sponsorships and social media campaigns and all that is focused on shaping a sustainable tradition of donor engagement and support
- Collaborates with the CEO and senior leadership team to create and implement a fund development plan to support the strategic priorities of the organization
- Develops and executes strategies to actively identify, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate, foundation and individual prospects in support of campaigns and annual fundraising goals
- Provides hands-on execution for annual donation campaigns
- Monitors and evaluates all fundraising activities to ensure that the fundraising goals are being achieved
- Monitors trends in the community or region and adapt fundraising strategies as necessary
- Researches and writes proposals to potential funders that will assist in realizing our client's strategic goals
- Assists with developing donor proposals, grant applications, stewardship reports ensuring all deadlines are met
- Assists with the engagement and relationships with donors, prospective donors, key stakeholders and partners
- Develops various donor recognition strategies, ensuring donors are properly recognized for their giving
- Develops and maintains a donor database and proper donor records
- Supports all major events and marketing initiatives aimed at increasing public awareness
- Works closely with communications and digital media team on posters, website and other promotional materials to support fundraising activities
- A leader with a post-secondary degree in business degree in Business Administration, Fundraising management or in a related field
- Minimum 2 years of extensive field experience required
- Solid understanding of fundraising readiness and execution
- Demonstrated competency with donor management systems
- Extensive experience developing and presenting briefing materials to board, its committees and CEO, including but not limited to reports, briefing notes and presentations
- Ability to effectively present and clarify requirements, expectations, ideas and concepts to staff, community members and service providers
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
- Knowledge of compliance implications of non-profit and charitable status
- Prior work experience in fundraising with non-profit sector would be an asset
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationship with potential donors
- Being a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) would be an asset
- Valid permit to work in Canada
- Criminal Occurrence Security Check - must complete a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check in good standing and within three months to first day of employment
