A Chopper Gun Operator is responsible for applying the required amount of fiberglass and mixed dressing coating to shells. This role is accountable for ensuring consistent quality in thickness and amount of material applied.2.0 Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Adhere to instructions received by Production Supervisor regarding the products for specific shift
- Communicate with previous shift Chopper Gun Operator to ensure all parameters of the gun, the schedule and the set-up are in line with company standards
- Complete necessary daily maintenance of the Chopper Gun followed by required dry run of the chopper Gun
- Prepare chopper gun for use including routine maintenance to ensure proper functionality
- Scan work order and complete chopping as per the quantity required, using the metering system for resin application.
- Place appropriate wood base/reinforcements onto tub after chopping
- Roll fiberglass to the shell when not operating the chopper gun or as required
- Ensure high quality application by adhering to specification required to meet or exceed company standards
- Complete work orders and communicate to Lead Hand or Production Supervisor
- Consistently meet or exceed production targets and quality
- Take direction from Lead Hand as required
- Complete regular daily and weekly maintenance of equipment
- Work rotating afternoon shift
- Other duties as required
- Maintain a safe workplace
- Wear Personal Protective equipment as required on the shop floor
- Comply with the company policies, procedures, and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act)
- Participation is required in our internal responsibility system (right to know, right to refuse, right to participate)
- Follow safe work and lockout / tagout procedures as required
- Report unsafe conditions or hazards as soon as possible to your supervisor
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Adhere to and maintain WHMIS 2015 requirements
- Annual medical surveillance may be required
- Ensure compliance with the Masco Canada Product Compliance Management System
- Follow all area work instructions and procedures in order to ensure quality standards are adhered to
- Report any potentially defective or damaged products or packaging to the quality dept, Lead Hand and your Supervisor
- Follow the control of non-conforming product procedure for any defective products found in your area

- Ability to pull, push (up to 30 lbs), bend and lift
- Ability to hold 8 lbs in one hand, swinging from left to right (chopping)
- Ability to grasp components
- Ability to stand up to 10 hours
- Ability to comprehend the English language
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- O.S.S.D or equivalent
- Successful completion of all tests related to the position
- Complies with all company policies and procedures
