Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for a Mechanical Engineer to support design and consulting for hydroelectrical power plants out of Halifax, NS or Peterborough, ON. Our flexibility and core value of relationships allow us to offer employees the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment including working from the office and remotely. This position requires three days in-office.Salary: 86,000-120,000 CAD /year (based on experience)Who You AreAn EIT or P.Eng with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 4 years' experience; 3 of which must be acceptable and verifiable for the Engineering Board of your province.Relationship-focused: Experience developing long-lasting relationships with clients to assist them in solving complex engineering challenges. Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team while applying engineering skills from analysis and design through to construction. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work directly with our senior leaders and will perform meaningful work that focuses on providing practical solutions to complex problems affecting energy, water, and the environment. The successful candidate will also possess strong oral and written communication skills, must be self-motivated and growth oriented.Knowledgeable: The successful candidate will have experience with machine design preferably facility design in oil systems, water pumping systems, piping, or other hydraulic/ pneumatic machinery. Must have experience working in an integrated design environment and 3-D modeling (Revit, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.). Hydroelectric design, consulting experience, or construction support while beneficial is not necessary. Candidates with FEA and or CFD experience will be preferred.Additional Requirements
  • Must possess permanent authorization to work in Canada.
  • Must be willing to travel and possess a valid driver's license.
