As a Senior Commercial Underwriter, you will play a key role in developing and expanding their high value homeowners' program, while influencing strategic underwriting decisions that shape the company's success. As a P&C Underwriter, you will:
- Review, underwrite and price new business and renewals with confidence and precision
- Grow and maintain a profitable book of business
- Focusing on growing our High Value Homeowners Program and collaborating with our team of Underwriters across the country.
- Establish & strengthen relationships with retail producing brokers by encouraging additional submission inflow.
- Share feedback, market intel, and insights with the team to help everyone stay sharp and aligned
- Attend broker meetings and industry events - your presence matters.
- Potential to participate in discussions with markets & add commentary on specific programs
- 5+ years of commercial property & casualty underwriting experience (MGA experience is a strong asset)
- Level 1 General Insurance license or willingness to obtain within a specified time frame
- Professional designations such as CAIB, CIP, CRM, or FCIP (completed or in progress preferred)
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle complex tasks under pressure
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in underwriting processes
- Self-motivated with a solution-oriented mindset and drive to exceed targets
- Effective communicator with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Confident working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Adaptable to change, with a proactive approach to learning and professional development
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
