As Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and delivery of road and civil infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.You will provide both strategic oversight and hands-on operational leadership across multiple projects and teams.Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Lead full project lifecycle from planning through execution and completion
- Oversee crews, superintendents, subcontractors, and project teams
- Ensure compliance with design specifications, schedules, budgets, and safety standards
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders on progress and project changes
- Travel to project sites regularly to support field operations and resolve issues
- Troubleshoot challenges including weather, scheduling conflicts, and resource constraints
- Develop and manage project budgets and timelines
- Monitor project costs and financial performance against targets
- Optimize use of labour, materials, and equipment
- Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and expenses
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and engineering requirements
- Conduct audits and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with QA/QC teams to maintain high performance standards
- Lead hiring, training, and development of project teams
- Manage employee relations and support a positive work environment
- Delegate responsibilities and drive accountability across teams
- Champion a strong safety culture across all projects
- Ensure compliance with OH&S regulations and company safety programs
- Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
Education & Certifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent)
- CET or P.Eng designation (preferred)
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- 5-7+ years in road or civil or infrastructure construction
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership or management role
- Proven experience managing infrastructure or road construction projects
- Strong understanding of:
o Compaction theory and QA/testing practices
o Project management and estimating
o OH&S and environmental regulations * Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word, Outlook)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $120,000 - $147,000 CAD
- Relocation assistance available

- Willingness to travel to project sites as required (20 %)
