Work Hours: Shift (3 x 12)***Union Position***Position SummaryAs a Maintenance Machinist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all the manufacturing equipment withing a secure print and technology company.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair mechanical issuesFabricate and modify parts using manual lathes, mills, and grinders.Rebuild pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and other mechanical components.Install, align, and level new equipment.Troubleshoot, maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.Perform preventative maintenance and document all work performed.Support production and engineering teamsQualificationsKnowledge and ExperienceCertificate of Certification as a General Machinist 429A, or Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433AStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong proficiency in manual machining (lathes, mills, grinders).Solid understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.Knowledge of PLCs and electrical systems is an asset.Welding GTAW, SMAW, GMAMandatory Requirements
- Language: Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods; lift/carry up to 50 lbs.; push/pull up to 45 lbs.; work at heights (ladders up to 25 feet);
- Work Hours: Ability to work shifts (3 x 12's - FED, FEN, BED, BEN) and overtime
- 1st year likely on days while training, then seniority dictates shift schedule
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance.
