Although they specialize in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges, they also manufacture and install platework, such as breechings, stacks, ducts, penstocks, process & storage tanks and custom process-equipment. Ocean Steel's two New Brunswick plants include the original location in Saint John, as well as the York Steel Plant in Fredericton, which was acquired by Ocean Steel in 1995.Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on a broad range of equipment including handtools, conveyors, shotblast machines, paint equipment, welding equipment and rigging as well as CNC bandsaws, drills and punches.
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Perform inspections on various equipment and rigging
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs to overhead cranes
  • Maintain parts inventory
  • Maintain maintenance logs
  • Assist in coordination of outside maintenance contractors and personnel
  • Maintenance of building infrastructure
  • Assist in Capital Project improvements
  • Follow all safe work practices and procedures
  • Working at heights
  • Overtime as required
Requirements:
  • Red Seal Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic/Millwright with minimum 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Electrical and PLC experience is a strong asset
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with Pneumatics, schematics and machine drawings
