- Lead core accounting functions, including AP, AR, GL, job costing, and cost accounting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cyclesincluding forecasts, KPIs, variance analysis, and operating planswhile setting financial performance targets.
- Identify trends and conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and drive operational improvements across business units.
- Streamline and automate accounting processes to enhance efficiency and maintain strong internal controls.
- Collaborate with the VP of Finance to implement standardized accounting practices and optimize financial operations.
- Prepare business unit reporting packages and WIPs and inventory variance reports; ensure alignment with operational requirements.
- Provide financial updates and data-driven insights to leadership, supporting cross-functional collaboration and informed decision-making.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ASPE and IFRS reporting standards; conduct gap analysis and implement necessary changes.
- Supervise treasury and cost systems, assist with cash flow forecasting, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Liaise with external auditors during mid-year and year-end reviews; ensure audit readiness.
- Ensure financial reporting systems meet both internal policy and local legal requirements, continuously improving departmental performance.
- 6+ years of strong accounting experience, including budgeting, and year-end
- MUST have either construction or manufacturing experience
- Ideally 3+ years of experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller
- CPA an asset
