On behalf of our Private Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Client's team on a Full-Time Permanent basis. This role is Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite in Burnaby.Summary of the RoleThe Accounts Payable Specialist supports the day-to-day execution of accounts payable operations, ensuring accurate invoice processing, strong internal controls, and timely vendor payments. This role works closely with finance and operational teams to maintain data accuracy, resolve vendor inquiries, and support payment processing activities. Depending on experience level, the position may also contribute to process improvements, vendor reconciliation activities, and operational oversight of invoice coding and payment workflows.Duties & Responsibilities
Process and review invoices, ensuring accurate coding across general ledger accounts, departments, and accounting periods.
Maintain accurate accounts payable records and supporting documentation in accordance with internal controls.
Reconcile vendor balances and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate payment processing.
Respond to vendor and internal stakeholder inquiries related to invoices, payments, and account balances.
Support weekly payment processing and maintain proper documentation for payment activities.
Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable and expense reporting.
Maintain vendor records and support vendor data integrity and compliance procedures.
Collaborate with accounting, procurement, and business teams to ensure timely invoice approvals and accurate expense coding.
Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable workflows and operational efficiency.
Contribute to finance initiatives such as system improvements, process enhancements, or operational projects.
Core Requirements
1-3+ years of accounts payable or related accounting operations experience.
Experience processing invoices in a high-volume or fast-paced environment.
Understanding of invoice coding, vendor management, and payment processes.
Experience working with ERP or financial systems.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office productivity tools.
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience working with financial systems such as NetSuite or Coupa.
Experience supporting month-end close processes.
Experience working in a multi-entity or high-growth business environment.
Exposure to process improvement initiatives or system implementation projects.
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
