- Collaborate with the Board to shape and implement strategic and operational plans, monitoring progress against objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Board by identifying trends, risks, and opportunities that may impact the organization.
- Lead and champion organizational culture initiatives, fostering a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven environment.
- Navigate change management processes to ensure smooth transitions and staff engagement during periods of organizational change.
- Build and maintain strong, transparent relationships with the Board, staff, families, funders, and community stakeholders.
- Represent the organization externally, enhancing its visibility, credibility, and community partnerships.
- Lead, mentor, and support staff through role clarity, performance expectations, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
- Oversee program planning, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement to align with organizational priorities.
- Develop and recommend policies and procedures for Board approval and effective governance.
- Ensure strong human resources practices, including staffing, structure, and policy implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, finance, or a related field.
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline or an accounting designation is considered an asset.
- Successful completion of a Police Information Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Knowledge of non-profit governance, compliance requirements, and ethical leadership principles.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably within a non-profit or community-based organization.
- Proven experience working with a Board of Directors and supporting effective governance.
- Demonstrated success in organizational leadership, strategic planning, change management, and guiding teams through transitions.
- Experience overseeing financial operations, budgets, and external audits.
- Public relations, stakeholder engagement, and community representation experience.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and respectfully.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, resolve conflict, and provide constructive feedback.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills grounded in empathy, accountability, and results.
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct, integrity, and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Monday – Friday.
- 40 hours per week.
- This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
