Anticipated interviews: September 11-16, 2025The ProjectThe Registries Modernization team is delivering modern, human-centred, and sustainable digital services for Albertans. For Motor Vehicles, this includes a full replacement of legacy applications with an established codebase that will become the foundation of the new system. The work focuses on better citizen experiences, strong privacy/security practices, and measurable operational efficiency.The RoleWe're hiring two Business Consultants to lead requirements discovery, process analysis, and solution definition across Motor Vehicles capabilities. You'll partner with program, product, security/privacy, and delivery teams to translate business needs into clear functional requirements and support change management and training for successful adoption.What you'll doFacilitate discovery: Run requirements workshops and process walkthroughs; capture current-state pain points and define future-state processes.Produce artifacts: Draft/update user stories, personas, journey maps, use cases, flow diagrams, and interactive mockups as needed.Document requirements: Develop detailed business and functional specification documents; validate with SMEs.Support governance: Liaise with security/privacy to complete Threat Risk Assessments (TRA) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA).Change & training: Prepare non-technical system documentation; support policy/procedural manual recommendations and training plans.Delivery support: Assist with project planning, scheduling, and status reporting; contribute to backlog refinement and continuous improvement post-go-live.Agile collaboration: Participate in Scrum ceremonies; coordinate with Release/Program/Project Managers across teams.What you bring7-10+ years in business analysis/consulting within IT or public-sector modernization.Hands-on experience with Agile/Hybrid delivery (Scrum) and managing user stories/backlogs (e.g., Jira).Strong skills in process mapping, gap analysis, and service design (personas/journey mapping).Proven ability to translate complex legislation/policies/standards into practical requirements.Excellent facilitation, stakeholder management, and clear written documentation (BRD/FRD/use cases).Comfort creating flow diagrams and mockups (tools such as Confluence, Figma/Balsamiq are assets).Work authorization in Canada; able to attend onsite sessions in Edmonton with notice.Security & ComplianceCriminal Record Check required prior to start.Completion of mandatory training (e.g., FOIP, Security Awareness).Contract & HoursHours/week: ~36.25 (7.25/day); standard business hours (08:15-16:30).Timesheets: Monthly (Standard).Term: Estimated 1,805.25 hours.Work model: Hybrid - primarily remote within Canada; onsite meetings at 9888 Jasper Ave, Edmonton on reasonable notice.Travel: Not expected; any travel to/from onsite is at the candidate's expense.Equipment: BYOD compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (Windows preferred).Contract Info / Information sur le contrat
