Transdev is currently hiring Part-Time Transit Bus Operators for an existing position at our Winkler location.Position OverviewThe Transit Driver plays a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and customer-focused transportation services within the assigned service area. This position requires a professional and courteous individual who enjoys interacting with the public and is committed to maintaining high service standards. The Transit Driver is responsible for operating a transit bus, ensuring passenger safety and comfort, and adhering to scheduled routes and timelines.You Role
  • Enjoy interacting with the public
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance and demeanour
  • Drive one of several different buses in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the contracted service area within a daily assigned time schedule
  • Maintain the appearance of the interior of the bus
  • Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required
  • Assist in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids
  • Complete and submit written reports concerning passengers and all accidents, and communicate with dispatch as required
  • Perform all other duties assigned
RequirementsYour ProfileEssential Criteria:
  • A willingness to work a variety of shifts
  • The ability to demonstrate proficiency in the safe and effective operation of a transit vehicle
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate/interact with the public (all levels of comprehension), management and other staff members in a courteous/respectful/efficient manner and to answer a variety of enquiries with tact and discretion
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Conditions of Employment:
  • A valid Class 4F License (required)
  • Driver’s Abstract
  • Child Abuse Registry Check (Max 60 days issued)
  • Adult Abuse Registry Check (Max 60 days issued)
  • Criminal Record Check- W/ Vulnerable Sector (Max 60 days issued)
