Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) to join their growing team. - Design concrete foundations, piles, structural steel, structural supports, and framing for a variety of projects.
- Prepare preliminary engineering reports and comprehensive construction work packages.
- Produce detailed design calculations, sketches, specifications, and material lists to support accurate construction cost estimates (using S-Frame or similar software).
- Conduct inspections and assessments of existing concrete and steel structures.
- Participate in site investigations to gather critical data for design development.
- Provide construction-phase support, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, conducting periodic site visits, and performing specialized structural inspections when required.
- Collaborate closely with architects, designers, and contractors throughout all phases of design and construction.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with APEGA (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta) - required.
- Strong experience in structural steel and concrete design for heavy industrial facilities.
- Knowledge of ASC codes and relevant industry standards.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional structural engineering experience.
- Industrial building experience required; oil and gas sector experience preferred.
- Strong design and analysis capabilities with S-Frame software.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- A commitment to producing high-quality work while meeting deadlines.
